Donetsk, Dec 29 – DAN. DPR Parliament has passed a law banning state security officials from owning foreign property, opening foreign bank accounts, keeping money and valuables abroad, owning foreign financial instruments.

The bill was supported by 84 MPs (DPR Parliament has 100 seats).

"The draft law bans officials who adopt or prepare decisions concerning the state security from opening and keeping accounts, holding cash and valuables in foreign banks located outside the DPR; and from owning and/or using foreign financial instruments," an MP Vladimir Bidyevka explained presenting the bill.

The law also prohibits owing foreign property and provides for the procedures for verifying the compliance and penalties for offences.

DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko is to sign the bill into law, which comes into force upon publication. *ot
