Donetsk, Feb 15 - DAN. DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko ordered to make one-time payments to two groups of residents living in Kiev-held areas of Donetsk Region, as part of the implementation of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme.

“Two groups of residents living in Ukraine-controlled territory of Donbass Region are eligible for one-time payments, namely war veterans and disabled veterans of WWII and the Great Patriotic War, as well as families with three children under 18 years of age,” according to the decree published on the Republic’s official website.

Victory Day payments to war veterans amount to 12,000 rubles or 6,000 hryvnas, the second group is entitled to 6,000 rubles or 3,000 hryvnas benefits. DPR Labour and Social Policy Ministry will monitor decree implementation.

The document came into force on the day of signing on 5 February 2018. Payments to the above groups of the population start on 15 February.

Earlier, Zakharchenko signed a decree extending the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme into 2018.

DPR has been implementing the humanitarian programme since 17 February 2017. It provides for medical and financial assistance, quotas for higher and vocational education for residents of Kiev-held areas, and their involvement, together with DPR population in sport and cultural events and measures aimed to preserve spiritual and cultural values in the region. *jk
