Donetsk, Nov 9 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations have not used a Bayraktar drone to deliver strikes at the Donetsk People’s Republic territory, DPR representative at the Minsk talks, the Republic’s Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova told the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“The combat use of a Bayraktar has not been confirmed,” Nikonorova said. “According to our information, you can safely say it’s a fake.”
She added that Ukrainian armed formations had used Bayraktar UAVs in Donbass before, but only for monitoring and reconnaissance. These UAVs have never crossed the contact line.
On October 26, the Ukrainian army General Staff reported the first ever combat use of a Bayraktar drone in Donbass at the order of Ukrainian armed forces commander-in-chief Valery Zalyzhny. According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the drone was used near the Kiev-controlled Granitnoye settlement on the Mariupol axis. It allegedly attacked a DPR militia artillery battery destroying one howitzer.*jk
