Donetsk, Mar 31 – DAN.  The head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Contact Group Leonid proposed to "reaffirm" the parties' commitment to the Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire in Donbass, said the DPR representative at the Minsk talks Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalia Nikonorova speaking about today's videoconference.

“Mr. Kravchuk decided today to smash all the records in the pretentious, but meaningless, initiatives. He called on the participants to agree on some wording, which should supposedly reaffirm the parties' commitment to the Measures starting from a date and a fixed time," she said.

Nikonorova added that the Ukrainian attitude in this respect has become notorious.

“Considering this fact, as well as the fact that eight months ago the document was signed by both parties to the conflict, as well as endorsed by the mediators, the OSCE and the Russian Federation, and no one officially withdrew from it, we are surprised by the hype around this proposal," she said.

“The next and key step should be an investigation into Ukrainian sniper killing a DPR civilian in Alexandrovka," Nikonorova added.

The appropriate notification should be sent to the coordinator, Ms. Heidi Grau, OSCE coordinator in the Contact Group.

The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”. The package came into effect on July 27. *ot
