Donetsk, Mar 16 – DAN. The DPR People's Council has passed a regulation to introduce criminal responsibility for publishing fake news about Russian Armed Forces and DPR, LPR People's Militia.

As DAN correspondent reports from the plenary meeting of the Parliament, the bill makes fake news punishable by a fine of 100,000 - 300,000 roubles or the amount of wages or other income of the convicted person for a period of 1 to 2 years, or up to three years of compulsory labour, or by up to 4-6 months of arrest, or by imprisonment for up to 3 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for the same period. 

For discrediting the armed forces of the three countries, including public calls to prevent their employment, resulting in death by negligence, causing harm to the health or property of citizens, riots, interference with the operation of life support facilities or infrastructure, a fine of 300,000 to 1,000,000 roubles or in the amount of wages or other income of the convicted person for a period of 3 to 5 years, or imprisonment for up to 5 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for the same period.

Russia started a special military operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the decision was made after the DPR and LPR Heads addressed him asking for help.
The Russian leader said that Moscow is not planning to occupy Ukrainian territory, the only goal is to protect people who have been continuously shelled and subjected to other forms of genocide by Ukraine for eight years. *ot
