Donetsk, Mar 31 — DAN. The “United Russia” political party has issued membership cards to 142 education staff in Donetsk and Makeyevka, head of the Promotion and Propaganda Department of the “Donetsk Republic” social movement Yelena Fesenko said on Friday.
“One hundred people in Makeyevka and 42 in Donetsk received membership cards, ” Fesenko told the Donetsk News Agency. “All of them work in education.”
More than 56,000 people in the DPR have reportedly joined “United Russia” since it came to the region.
The Party issued the first membership cards to Donbass residents in the autumn of 2021. “United Russia” Chairman Dmitry Medvedev presented a membership card to DPR Acting Head Denis Pushilin at the Party’s 20th Congress in Moscow in December 2021.
“United Russia” is the largest political party of the Russian Federation. It was founded on December 1, 2001 through a merger of the “Unity” movement and the election blocs “Fatherland — All Russia” and “Our Home is Russia.” The Party set up its regional branch in the DPR in 2022 after the Republic’s accession to Russia.
