Donetsk, Feb 17 – DAN. The announced aid programme for residents of Kiev-controlled part of Donbass pursues absolutely humanitarian objectives, acting DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova told Donetsk News Agency on Friday.

“We neither build “walls” nor impose blockades; the programme pursues absolutely humanitarian objectives. We seek to unify, create, develop,” Nikonorova said in a statement.

The key objective of the programme is to provide assistance to vulnerable groups of Donbass population, she added.

“The programme envisions social payments and subsidies for those who are in a difficult situation or are entitled to financial assistance, like World War II veterans,” the diplomat said. “The programme includes not only financial assistance but also numerous social and cultural projects to facilitate reunion of the families divided by the conflict, restore the weakening socio-cultural ties and re-consolidate Donbass civil society.”

DPR and LPR leaders Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitskiy announced the launching of the humanitarian assistance programme for residents of Kiev-occupied part of Donbass at a joint briefing in Lugansk earlier on Friday. *jk
