Donetsk, Nov 21 — DAN. A fire broke out at an oil depot in Makeyevka on Monday morning as a result of shelling by Ukrainian forces.
It occurred at around 4:00 at the oil depot located at Antropov Street in the town’s Chervonogvardeisky district. The Donetsk People’s Republic Emergency ministry immediately sent fire brigades to the scene.
“The fire caused by an explosive hazard engulfed two fuel tanks with a capacity of 70 cu m on the railway tracks outside the oil depot premises and three dyked tanks 20 to 25 meters from the railway, ” the Ministry reported.
By 6:00 a.m. the rescuers split into two groups to separately fight the fires on the areas of 300 square meters at the oil depot and 350 square meters on the railway. The rescuers used 77mm hoses. A fire train Yasinovataya and an engine-driven pump from the local fire-fighting unit were dispatched to the scene.
The fire was contained at 9:00 and fully extinguished at 9:43.*jk
