Donetsk, Feb 23 — DAN. Four people have been killed and at least a dozen have been wounded in Kiev artillery strikes at two districts of Donetsk on Thursday.
A series of explosions thundered in the city center at around 11:15 as enemy projectiles hit a residential area in the Voroshilovsky district damaging a music college and an apartment building. Fragments of a US-made high mobility artillery rocket system missile were found at the scene.
Enemy projectiles also hit the Budyonnovsky and Proletarsky districts which are generally regarded as rear areas of the city. A woman was killed in the Trinalovka neighborhood when a “Smerch” MLRS missile punctured the roof of a house and two floors.
In the Budyonnovsky district, cluster ammunition damaged a kindergarten, a dozen of single family homes and heat supply lines in Oktyabr, Yeniseiskaya and Visotnaya Streets. In the Proletarsky district, single-family homes were damaged in Karpatskaya, Naklonnaya, Zavetnaya and Zodchikh Streets.
The enemy fired six 155mm (NATO standard) projectiles at the Petrovsky district at around 11:30. Earlier, the district came under MLRS fire (some 20 rounds). A 66-year-old man was wounded in Petrovsky Street and four homes were damaged in Bagritsky Street.
Three ambulance personnel were killed in a second strike at the Petrovsky district. The paramedic who was wounded and rushed to hospital later died of her wounds. Ten damage control team members were wounded.
The Ukrainian army has fired 110 projectiles at the Republic including 80 at Donetsk on Thursday. Strikes were delivered at Gorlovka, Yasinovataya and their suburbs. The enemy used missile and cannon artillery including artillery pieces supplied by the West.*jk
