Rostov region, Apr 24 — DAN. The construction of the Don-Seversky Donets” water duct, the largest hydraulic works in Donbass in the past five decades, is nearing completion. A Donetsk News Agency correspondent travelled to a stretch of the water line and even found a monument which would be unveiled in honor of project completion.

The monument, located near a pumping station, is shaped like a wedge-type shutoff valve and has a commemorative plaque.

The Military Construction Complex of the Russian Defense Ministry has been implementing the project round-the-clock, without weekend days. The facility will be commissioned in a record short period.

The first reports on the beginning of construction appeared on December 21, 2022, referring to Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu’s  report to President Vladimir Putin.  Last week, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said that water delivery would begin by April 30. Engineers say that it usually takes at least three years to build such facilities.

The project is being implemented at the instruction of President Vladimir Putin.*jk
