Donetsk, Dec 21 — DAN. “Lepestok” anti-personnel mines dropped by Ukrainian gunmen have been found in Biryuzov Street in the Kirovsky district of Donetsk, the Donetsk People’s Republic Territorial Defense Headquarters reported on Wednesday.
“Banned PFM-1 anti-personnel mines have been found Biryuzov Street in Donetsk’s Kirovsky district, ” the report said.
The Ukrainian army has been scattering these mines in DPR frontline areas since mid-summer. PFM-1 is a highly unstable pressure activated mine; even the slightest movement can cause it to explode. They are deadly for children. The DPR reported 87 cases of civilians’ being hurt in anti-personnel mine blasts. There were four children among the wounded.*jk
