Donetsk, Aug 4 — DAN. Five civilians have been killed in a Ukrainian artillery attack at central Donetsk on Thursday, the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) said.

“According to preliminary reports, five civilians have been killed and another six have been wounded, ” the JCCC said. The Voroshilovsky district crisis control center is retrieving the victims’ personal data.

Another person was wounded in a PFM-1 “Lepestok” mine explosion in Donetsk’s Kuibyshevsky district, the JCCC added.

Earlier reports said that two people had been killed and another five had been wounded in central Donetsk. A theatre, a hotel and two residential buildings were damaged in the Ukrainian attack. 

The Kiev army delivered an artillery strike at central Donetsk at around 10:20. The attack was launched as residents were paying their last respects to Hero of Russia and the Donetsk People’s Republic Olga Kachura  (“Korsa”). The funeral ceremony took place at the Solovyanenko Donetsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.*jk
