Donetsk, Apr 13 — DAN. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) and Investigative Committee (SK) have established the identity of an accomplice to the assassination of war correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky (Maxim Fomin), the FSB reported on Thursday.
“The murder of Maxim Fomin was plotted, together with Darya Trepova, by a member of a Ukrainian sabotage and terrorist group, Ukrainian citizen Yury Denisov, 36. He used express delivery service to pass a bomb through an intermediary to Trepova, which was disguised as a gypsum bust of the war correspondent, ” the report said.
Denisov, who entered Russia via Latvia, plotted the assassination at the instruction of the Ukrainian secret service, the FSB said. To gather information about Tatarsky’s habits and places he used to visit, he bought a car and rented an apartment near Tatarsky’s place of residence. After the terrorist attack, Denisov flew to Turkey via Armenia on April 3.
The FSB posted the photos of Denisov, his car purchase contract dated March 2, 2023 and the driving license issued to him in Torez (eastern part of the Donetsk People’s Republic) in 2007.
Vladlen Tatarsky (Maxim Fomin), a blogger and war correspondent who covered Donbass events, was killed in a bomb explosion at the Petersburg cafe where he was giving a talk to an audience on April 2. His funeral took place in Moscow on April 8.*jk
