Donetsk, Aug 16 — DAN. A civilian has been wounded in a Ukrainian PFM-1 (“Lepestok”) anti-personnel mine explosion in Donetsk on Wednesday morning, said city mayor Alexey Kulemzin.

A utility company employee was wounded in Delegatskaya Street in the Kirovsky district, Kulemzin said adding that a truck had trigged a  “Lepestok” in the Voroshilovsky district’s Fyodor Zaitsev Street in the second such incident.

On Tuesday, a Gorlovka resident was hurt in an anti-personnel mine explosion.

“Lepestok” is a pressure-activated mine that can be triggered even by the slightest move. The Ukrainian army began to use anti-personnel mines against Donbass civilians last summer. One hundred and twenty-eight people including 11 children have been hurt in anti-personnel mine explosions since. Three victims have died of their wounds.  “Lepestok” mines are often found in the frontline areas of Donetsk, Makeyevka, and Gorlovka and sometimes even in the deep rear.*jk
