Donetsk, Apr 20 — DAN. The Rostec State Corporation is working with Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics authorities on stepping up cooperation with the two regions, a Rostec press service representative told the Donetsk News Agency.

“Donbass is one of the world’s largest mining and metallurgy centers. Rostec sees great opportunities and prospects for cooperation with the DPR and LPR in various fields, ” the Rostec representative  said. “We actively coordinate plans with DPR and LPR authorities to expand economic, cooperation and research and technology ties with the new regions.”

He noted successful cooperation between Rostec’s subdivision Uralvagonzavod and Yuzhny Mining and Metallurgical Complex (YuGMK) which brings together the largest metallurgical and coke-chemical enterprises of Donbass. Under bilateral contracts, YuGMK has already supplied metal to Uralvagonzavod while the latter, one of the largest Russian railcar producers, is helping YuGMK to restore production at the Stakhanov railcar plant.

Rostec earlier told DAN that it intended to deliver more products of the Kovrov electromechanical plant to Donbass, which specializes in agricultural machinery, road construction equipment, attachments and hydraulic units.

Rostec is a Russian state corporation established in 2007 to promote the development, production and exports of high-tech industrial products for civil and military use. It brings together more than 800 research and production organizations.*jk
