Amvroskiyevka district, Jul 20 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin ordered line ministers to consider ways of arranging sales of agricultural products without middlemen. Pushilin issued the instruction at a conference in the fields of the Progress agribusiness during his visit to the Amvroskyevka district on Tuesday.

The conference was attended by DPR Agriculture Policy and Food Minister Artyom Kramarenko, Industry and Trade Minister Vladimir Ruschak, Tax and Revenue Minister Yevgeny Lavrenov, acting Labor and Social Policy Minister Vladislav Morozov and municipal officials. Price hikes topped the agenda. Producers said that prices for consumers had increased several fold because of middlemen’s surcharges. For example, local farmers sell cabbage at five to six rubles per kilogram whereas prices at shops amount to 30 rubles or more.

As a quick price stabilization measure, the head of state ordered the Ministry of Industry and trade to run food fairs across the Republic in the near future. The minister was also tasked with arranging direct interaction between large retail networks and producers without middlemen to significantly reduce the cost of goods for the population.*jk*pp
