Donetsk, Nov 1 — DAN. Iran has exported some 4,000 tons of fruits and vegetables to the Donetsk People’s Republic in 2022, the DPR Ministry of Industry and Trade told the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has been successfully supplying goods to the Donetsk People’s Republic over the past few years, mostly plant-based foods, ” the Ministry said adding that the DPR has imported some 4,000 tons of fruits (including citrus fruits) and vegetables from Iran since the beginning of this year. Iran also began to supply soft drinks to the DPR in the middle of this year.
In June, the DPR and Iran signed an agreement at the Petersburg International Economic Forum on boosting trade and economic ties. Donetsk reportedly plans to export rolled metal products, cast iron, fertilizers, steel cables and coal industry machinery to Iran, while Tehran is ready to consider the opportunity to provide Donbass with construction materials and plant-based foods. Research is among other areas of cooperation between Iran and the DPR.*jk
