Donetsk, Mar 24 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic has received more than ten proposals on long-term lease of coalmines from Russian investors, the DPR Coal and Energy Ministry press service told the Donetsk News Agency.

“The Ministry has drawn a DPR coal industry reform concept which envisions long-term lease of coal mines to investors, ” the press service said.  “Today, we have more than ten proposals both from resident investors and other Russian regions.”

The DPR currently has 14 state-run coal mines, 60 privately run coalmines and 133 small coal-mining partnerships.

Earlier reports said that DPR authorities were considering the possibility to privatize or lease a number of state-owned coalmines.*jk
