Donetsk, Mar 9 – DAN. DPR enterprise Donetskgormash plans to assemble the first passenger bus in summer 2017, the Industry and Trade Ministry press service told Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“We plan to produce the first bus in late July. Its seating capacity will be up to 55 and it will feature a powerful engine and advance steering and control systems,” the press service said.

Buses will be assembled at Donetskgormash which will also manufacture units and parts. More than a dozen companies will join production at later stages.
Makeyevka Machine-Building Plant will manufacture lining plates, seats and railing. Elektroistochnik will manufacture batteries, Donpromkabel and Khartsyzsk companies will contribute cables and Donfrost will supply plastic parts.

The authorities will consider the establishment of a domestic service centre for the bus fleet.

On 30 November 2016, DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko unveiled plans to launch domestic bus production. According to DPR Industry and Trade Ministry, the Republic needs more than 900 municipal and commuter buses with a seating capacity of up to 60. *jk
