Mariupol, Apr 28 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic authorities plan to dispatch the first cargo ship from the Mariupol seaport in May, DPR Head Denis Pushilin said during his visit to the seaport on Thursday.
“As for the seaport where we’re currently staying, it’s an important transport hub which will be in use,” Pushilin said. “We plan to dispatch the first shipment, so the cargo will go to a destination in May.”
He said that inventorying is currently underway at the port, and that necessary regulations are being drawn for full-fledged operation of the facility.
On Thursday, the DPR leader travelled to Mariupol. He visited the seaport, talked with its personnel, inspected facilities and ships berthed at the port.
A large number of administrative buildings were damaged, but other infrastructure such as cranes, piers, railway, reservoirs, vessels etc are largely functional. Pushilin said that war-damaged port infrastructure would be restored. *jk
