Donetsk, Mar 9 — DAN. The Russian government has exempted Donetsk People’s Republic farmers from paying export duties on 143,000 tons of wheat and barley, the Russian Agriculture Ministry press service told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“The grain produced in the DPR has a large export potential, ” the press service said. “To facilitate grain exports, the Russian government has decided to exempt 111,000 tons of wheat and 32,000 tons of barley produced in the DPR from export duties this year.”
The measure is expected to increase DPR agribusinesses’ profits up by 550 million rubles.
Earlier reports said that DPR farmers had thrashed 689,600 tons of early grain and grain legumes, up 80 percent from the 2021 yield.*jk
