Donetsk, Dec13 – DAN. DPR Coal and Energy Ministry said it is merging two coalmines to optimize their management and financial situation.
“Shakhterskantratsit state-owned enterprise will stop operation shortly, pursuant to Ministry resolution No 128 of 1 December, 2016 and merge with state-owned Torezantratsit,” the Ministry’s press service said.
Aside from updating management system and improving financial position, the merger will allow carrying out modernization and equipment upgrade, the press service said.
The Shakhtersk coal group currently has two mines in operation, Ilovaiskaya and Shakhterskaya-Glubokaya. The third mine – 17th Party Congress – is out of operation and there are plans to liquidate it.
In September 2016, DPR authorities handed over to the Torez coalmine group the Snezhnoyeantratsit enterprise which operated one mine - Zarya. *jk
