Donetsk, Apr 13 — DAN. More than 60 companies that wish to do business in the Donetsk People’s Republic have forwarded investment proposals to the Donbass Development Corporation (KRD), the company’s top executive said.

“There is a popular belief that investments are not flowing to Donbass because of hostilities, ” KRD Chairman of the Board Andrey Shpilenko said in an interview with the Donetsk News Agency. “The inflow of investors is tremendous. We have more than 60 companies which suggested considering the possibility to implement projects in various fields. Of course, priority was given to the construction sector.”

For example, they have plans for the production of aerated concrete, dry mortars, metal structures, reinforced concrete, LED equipment and technical gases, he said.

The KRD was established in early August 2022. Its objective is to form and develop the Republic’s investment potential.  Shpilenko said that the Corporation was conspicuously proactive in the search for and support of investors. The KRD which has received a number of office buildings for accommodating businesses will also manage the ExpoDonbass trade and exhibition center.*jk
