Donetsk, Aug 16 – DAN. DPR law enforcers detained a Ukrainian sabotage squad and its leader, a special task forces serviceman, the State Security Ministry press service said.
"In the course of the joint operation DPR law enforcement authorities foiled an attempt to carry out a terror attack prepared by Ukrainian special services, aimed at an important infrastructure."
"It was established that Ukrainian Security Service sent a group of people to DPR to prepare a terror attack. The group was led by a serviceman of the 8th regiment of special operations forces of chief directorate of intelligence of the ministry of defence of Ukraine, Sugerei Oleg Viktorovich, born in 1976, from Khmelnitskiy. Before committing an attack, they were detained."
The DPR State Security Ministry said the saboteurs planned to destroy the TV tower in Petrovskiy district of Donetsk, as well as the previous Ukrainian squad currently under arrest.
On previous occasions the Ministry reported both DPR and Ukraine residents detained on suspicion of spying or plotting terror attacks.*ot
