Donetsk, Oct 2 – DAN. Ukrainian forces shelled DPR territory 269 times over 24 hours, a DPR Operations Command official reported.
“The situation in Donetsk People’s Republic is deteriorating. Over the last 24 hours Ukrainian forces shelled the Republic’s territory 269 times using various types of weapons, including those banned under Minsk agreements,” said deputy commander of DPR Operations Command Colonel Eduard Basurin.
He noted that Yasinovataya, Gorlovka and their outskirts as well as Sakhanka village in the east and settlements surrounding Donetsk airport area were hit as Ukraine military used 122mm artillery, 120mm and 82mm mortars, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms.
“Two DPR servicemen died and one was wounded as a result of Ukraine’s butchers shelling,” Basurin added.
DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko ordered republican forces to maintain a comprehensive and unconditional ceasefire as of midnight September, 14/15. He reiterated that DPR kept truce before as well, in accordance with agreement brokered by the Contact Group in late August.
