Donetsk, Jul 30 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire once over the past 24 hours firing small arms at the Yakovlevka village outside Yasinovataya, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported on Thursday.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire once,” the report said.

No civilian casualties or damage to civil infrastructure were recorded in the designated period.

Earlier reports said that the DPR had recorded the first ceasefire violation by Ukrainian army units since the introduction of tighter ceasefire control measures.

The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force on July 27, 2020. The use of any armaments, including small arms by Ukraine, the DPR and the LPR is prohibited.

The Contact Group agreed the additional ceasefire control measures on July 22. The purpose of the measures is to achieve stable ceasefire until complete and comprehensive settlement of the conflict. The truce has been formally in effect for year since July 21, 2019; previously, the parties made more than 20 attempts to stop the civil confrontation in the region. However, the shelling resumed every time; alone in the DPR, nearly 5,000 people have been killed over six years of the conflict.*jk*pp
