Donetsk, May 21 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire eight times over the past 24 hours firing more than 70 rounds of ammunition at the Donetsk People’s Republic territory, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported on Thursday.
“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire eight times expending 73 rounds of ammunition,” the report said.
The enemy used 82mm and 120mm mortars, infantry fighting vehicle cannons, grenade launchers and high calibre small arms. The amount of expended ammunition of calibre up to 12.7mm is not added to overall daily statistics.
Strikes were delivered at the areas of the Volvo Centre and the Spartak village on the Donetsk axis, and the outskirts of the Ozeryanovka, Shirokaya Balka, Shakhta Gagarina and Shakhta 6/7 settlements on the Gorlovka axis, the JCCC said.
On Wednesday, three houses were damaged as Ukrainian forces shelled Gorlovka’s northwestern outskirts.
Earlier reports said that Ukrainain forces had violated the truce with the DPR about 5,000 times over a year of Vladimir Zelensky’s presidential rule. Meanwhile, DPR Head Denis Pushilin ordered mitilia units to go on high alert.
In the previous reporting period, Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire 23 times firing more than 120 rounds of ammunition at DPR areas.*jk
