Donetsk, Nov 22 – DAN. Ukrainian forces fired at Donetsk People’s Republic frontline areas 519 times in the past 24 hours, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Colonel Eduard Basurin told a news briefing at Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.

“The situation in DPR remains tense. Ukrainian gunmen violated the ceasefire 519 times in the past 24 hours, firing six 152mm and 122mm artillery rounds and 148 120mm and 82 mm mortar rounds. They also used grenade launchers, infantry fighting vehicle cannons and small arms,” Basurin said.

Ukrainian forces fired at Aleksandrovka, Trudovskiye and Staromikhailovka villages west of Donetsk, Gorlovka and its Zaitsevo neighbourhood, Yasinovataya and suburban Spartak and Vasilyevka villages, Dokuchayevsk and Leninskoye and Sakhanka villages in DPR south, he added.

A DPR defence source told DAN earlier on Tuesday that Ukrainian forces fired more than 140 82mm and 120mm mortar rounds at DPR frontline areas on Monday evening and night. Checkpoint Mayorsk outside Gorlovka came under fire as well.
