Donetsk, Oct 10 - DAN. Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire 21 times over the past 24 hours firing some 120 rounds of ammunition at the Donetsk People’s Republic territory, head of the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination Ruslan Yakubov said on Thursday.
“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 21 times expending 117 rounds of ammunition,” Yakubov said.
Strikes were delivered at the Donetsk airport, the Trudovskaya Colliery and Staromikhailovka neighbourhoods in the outskirts of the DPR capital, the Mineralnaya village outside Makeyevka, Yasinovataya and the adjacent villages of Krutaya Balka and Vasilyevka, and the Petrovskoye, Kominternovo, Leninskoye and Sakhanka villages in the south of the Republic.
The enemy used tank guns, 120mm and 82mm mortars, infantry fighting vehicle cannons, grenade launchers and high calibre small arms. The amount of expended ammunition of calibre up to 12.7mm is not added to overall daily statistics.
On Thursday morning, Kiev forces delivered a massive mortar strike at the Spartak neighbourhood in northern Donetsk, firing more than four dozen 120mm rounds in less than an hour. Other settlements came under fire at this time as well.
In the previous reporting period, Ukrainian forces fired 38 rounds of ammunition at DPR areas.*jk
