Donetsk, Nov 28 – DAN. Ukrainian forces fired at Donetsk People’s Republic frontline areas over 2,000 times in the past 24 hours, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Colonel Eduard Basurin said at a news briefing in Donetsk News Agency.
“The situation in DPR remains tense. We record increase in shelling daily. Ukrainian gunmen violated the ceasefire 2059 times in the past 24 hours, firing 120 152mm and 122mm artillery rounds; 368 120mm and 82 mm mortar rounds. They also used grenade launchers, infantry fighting vehicle cannons and small arms,” Basurin said.
Ukrainian forces fired at Gorlovka and its Zaitsevo neighbourhood, Ozeryanovka and Shirokaya Balka, Spartak, Zhabitchevo, Kamenka and Yakovlevka north of Donetsk, Aleksandrovka and Trudovskiye west of Donetsk, Dokuchayevsk, Leninskoye, Kominternovo and Sakhanka in DPR south.
A DPR defence source told DAN earlier on Monday that Ukrainian forces fired at Mayorsk checkpoint outside Gorlovka with heavy machine gun and small arms.
