Donetsk, May 14 - DAN. Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire 17 times over the past 24 hours firing more than 170 rounds of ammunition at Donetsk People’s Republic areas, head of the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination Ruslan Yakubov said on Tuesday.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 17 times expending 172 rounds of ammunition,” Yakubov said.

Fire was delivered at the airport area, the Zhabichevo and Spartak villages north of Donetsk, the Trudovskaya Colliery, Alexandrovka and Staromikhailovka neighbourhoods in the west of the DPR capital, the Golmovskiy, Zaitsevo, Gagarin Colliery and Verkhnetoretskoye townships outside Gorlovka, and Yasinovataya. The Leninskoye, Kominternovo and Sakhanka villages in southern DPR also came under fire, he added.

The enemy used 82mm and 120mm mortars, infantry fighting vehicle cannons, grenade launchers and high calibre small arms. The amount of expended ammunition of calibre up to 12.7mm is not added to overall daily statistics.

On Monday, damage was caused to windows of a house and garage roof in southern DPR’s Kominternovo village in shelling by Ukrainian forces. No civilian casualties were reported.

In the previous reporting period, Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire 15 times firing nearly 50 rounds at DPR areas.*jk
