Donetsk, Sep 10 - DAN. Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire 17 times over the past 24 hours, firing more than 170 rounds of ammunition at Donetsk People’s Republic frontline areas, head of the DPR Mission to the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination Ruslan Yakubov said on Monday.
“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 17 times expending 174 rounds of ammunition,” Yakubov said.
Strikes were recorded on the Gorlovka, Donetsk and Mariupol axes. Kiev forces used anti-tank rocket propelled grenade launches (RPG), recoilless guns (SPG), automatic grenade launches (AGS), large calibre machine guns and small arms.
The Ukrainian army shelled settlements in the south of the Republic (the Sakhanka , Kominternovo, Novaya Tavriya and Zaichenko villages), Donetsk outskirts (the Trudovskiye, Staromikhailovka and Spartak neighbourhoods), Yasinovataya outskirts (the Mineralnoye settlement), Gorlovka suburbs (the Zaitsevo, Gagarina Colliery and Ozeryanovka villages) and Dokuchayevsk. No civilian casualties or damage to infrastructure have been reported.
In the previous reporting period, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 22 times expending 103 rounds of ammunition in strikes at DPR areas.
The amount of expended ammunition of calibre up to 12.7mm is not added to overall daily statistics.
A new comprehensive, lasting and indefinite ceasefire came into force in Donbass at 00:01 on August 29, 2018. It was agreed by the the Contact Group participants in Minsk ahead of the new school year.*jk
