Donetsk, Apr 5 - DAN. Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire 15 times over the past 24 hours firing more than 600 rounds of ammunition at the Donetsk People’s Republic territory, head of the DPR Mission to the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination Ruslan Yakubov said on Thursday.
“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 15 times expending 610 rounds of ammunition,” Yakubov said.
The outskirts of Donetsk, Gorlovka and Yasinovataya and southern DPR were targeted with mortars, infantry fighting vehicle cannons etc., he added.
Shelling intensity has increased from the previous reporting period when Ukrainian forces expended 78 rounds of ammunition firing at DPR areas.
The “Easter ceasefire” proposed by DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko and supported by the Contact Group for peaceful settlement came into effect in Donbass at 00:01 on March 30. The lull on the frontline did not last long: nine and half hours later, the first violations of the truce by Kiev forces were recorded. *jk
