Donetsk, Oct 5 – DAN. Ukrainian forces shelled DPR territory 247 times over 24 hours, a DPR Operations Command official reported.
“The situation in Donetsk People’s Republic has deteriorated dramatically. Over the last 24 hours Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 247 times using various types of weapons, those banned under Minsk agreements fired 166 times,” said deputy commander of DPR Operations Command Colonel Eduard Basurin.
According to the Command, Ukraine forces fired two 152mm artillery rounds and 16 82mm and 120mm mortar rounds at residential areas of Trudovskie and Staromikhailovka settlements. Yasinovataya and its neighborhoods were hit with 93 mortar rounds, Zaitsevo was shelled with tank gun and mortar rounds. The enemy also used RPGs and small arms.
DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko ordered republican forces to maintain a comprehensive and unconditional ceasefire as of midnight September, 14/15. He reiterated that DPR kept truce before as well, in accordance with agreement brokered by the Contact Group in late August.
