Donetsk, Mar 14 – DAN. Five DPR civilians have been injured by shelling over the past 24 hours, the situation remains tense, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Tuesday.

“Ukrainian forces employed weapons banned under the Minsk agreements firing heavy artillery pieces at DPR territory 166 times, tank guns 78 times, mortars 462 times, infantry fighting vehicle cannons 145 times and anti-aircraft guns, grenade launchers and small arms 859 times,” Basurin said.

Fifteen DPR settlements came under Ukrainian forces fire: Donetsk’s Petrovskiy and Kuibyshevskiy districts, Volvo Centre in the north of the city, Aleksandrovka and Luganskoye neighbourhoods in western outskirts, Elenovka southwest of Donetsk, Yasinovataya town and Krutaya Balka and Spartak villages in Yasinovatskiy district.

Gorlovka and its neighbourhoods Zaitsevo and Zheleznaya Balka were also shelled. Ukrainian forces shelled Dokuchayevsk and its Yasnoye neighbourhood and Sakhanka, Oktyabr and Kominternovo villages in DPR south.

“Five DPR civilians were injured by Ukrainian shelling,” Basurin said adding that 13 residential houses had been damaged.

According to DPR Command’s new violations counting method, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 72 times over the past 24 hours. As of now, a sequence of ceasefire violations committed within a certain period of time in a particular sector is registered as a single case of shelling (violation). Earlier the Operations Command reported the overall number of rounds fired. *jk
