Donetsk, Feb 2 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations fired mortars and infantry fighting vehicle cannons at the Yelenovka settlement southwest of Donetsk on Tuesday evening, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported.
The strike was delivered at 17:00 from the Ukraine-controlled Slavnoye village. The enemy fired ten 82mm mortar rounds and 15 IFV-1 cannon rounds, the JCCC said.
The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of all weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights.
Yelenovka is located on the contact line south of Donetsk. The settlement area accommodates one of the four crossing points that link the DPR with the Ukraine-controlled territory. Also, a humanitarian corridor operates in the area. The settlement has regularly come under Ukrainian forces fire since 2014.*jk
