Donetsk, Sep 21 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations have fired grenade launchers at the Petrovskoye village in the south of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported.
Fire was delivered at 17:40, the report said. The enemy expended 15 AGS grenade launcher rounds and also used small arms.
The framework agreement on the disengagement of forces and hardware in Donbass was signed in 2016. The objective was to disengage the warring sides and avoid the risk of further clashes and shelling. The document set three pilot zones: Petrovskoye (official name Petrovskoye-Bogdanovka security zone No 3) in the DPR and Stanitsa Luganskaya and Zolotoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic.
The Petrovskoye village is located some 40 kilometers south of Donetsk. The conflicting parties withdrew from the area in October 2016 for the first time, but later on Kiev returned troops to their positions. The next withdrawal took place in November 2019, however Ukrainian forces have remained active in the area.*jk
