Donetsk, Jun 17 - DAN. Ukrainian forces on Thursday morning fired mortars and grenade launchers at the outskirts of the Shakhta Oktyabrskaya neighbourhood in Donetsk’s Kuibyshevsky district, and the neighbouring Vasilyevka village, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported.
The first strike was delivered at 04:18 as Ukrainian forces fired five SPG recoilless gun rounds and three 120mm mortar rounds at Vesyoloye. The second attack was recorded at 04:50. Kiev army units fired eight 120mm mortar rounds at the Shakhta Oktyabrskaya area. Both strikes were delivered from the Ukrainian-controlled Peski settlement.
No casualties or damage were immediately reported, the DPR Office said adding that Ukrainian representatives at the JCCC ignore Donetsk's requests to establish ceasefire by employing the coordination mechanism.
The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of all weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights.*jk
