Donetsk, Jul 12 - DAN. Ukrainian army units have made about ten successful attempts to break through Donetsk People’s Republic defences since the beginning of this year, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said in an interview with the Donetsk News Agency.
“Ukrainian troops have made some ten sorties on the Gorlovka, Donetsk and southern DPR axes since the beginning of this year,” Basurin said. “Such attacks always end in fatalities: Ukraine has lost more than a hundred troops in the offensive since the beginning of this year, and many more have been wounded.”
In the second half of May, two unsuccessful breakthrough attempts on the Gorlovka axis left 18 Ukrainian servicemen dead and more than 20 wounded.*jk
