Donetsk, Apr 5 - DAN. DPR intelligence obtained documents showing that the Ukrainian command had ordered the army to view all targets as area targets, not pointpoints, DPR armed forces spokesman Daniil Bezsonov said on Thursday.
“Our intelligence obtained the document listing new requirements for artillery units in the occupation forces operation zone, issued by criminal Commander of Ukrainian missile troops and artillery Gorbylev. The document orders to regard all targets designated for destruction as area targets to cause maximum damage, including to civil infrastructure,” Bezsonov said.
Artillery unit commanders have been tasked with selecting targets in the strike areas on their own.
“In actual fact, the responsibility for the criminal shelling of the Republic’s territory is shifted to unit commanders, which will be taken into account in gathering evidence for the International Criminal Court and the European Court of Human Rights,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces regularly shell Donetsk People’s Republic frontline areas despite the ceasefire accords. Civil facilities come under enemy fire. The DPR Mission to the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported that 25 houses and two infrastructure facilities were damaged in shelling by Ukrainian forces in the period from March 14 till April 4.*jk
