Donetsk, May 6 - DAN. Ukrainian forces opened fire at the Donetsk People’s Republic territory seven times over the past 24 hours, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Thursday.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire seven times expending 53 rounds of ammunition,” the report said.

Fire was delivered at the the Shakhta Gagarina and Shakhta 6/7 settlement areas in the outskirts of Gorlovka, the Luganskoye and Vesyoloye villages in Donetsk suburbs and the Petrovskoye and Zaichenko villages in southern DPR.  The enemy employed 120mm and 82mm mortars and RPG and SPG grenade launchers.

Earlier, a Ukrainian army strike damaged the northern water supply node in Donetsk.  Water supply to customers in the city’s Kievskiy district was suspended due to the incident.  The strike also damaged windows of a pumping station and the roof of a house in Donetsk’s northern outskirts.

“Ukraine has ignored the DPR’s attempts to use the coordination mechanism to secure immediate ceasefire after each violation,” the DPR Office at the JCCC said.

In the previous reporting period, Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire on the contact line with the DPR twice.

The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of all weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights.*jk
