Donetsk, Mar 9 – DAN. Ukrainian forces fired more than 350 artillery and mortar rounds at DPR territory over the past 24 hours; the situation remains tense, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said.
Ukrainian army used heavy artillery 84 times (including 152mm artillery 25 times), mortars 276 times (including 120mm mortars 171 times) and infantry fighting vehicle cannons 55 times. Anti-aircraft guns, grenade launchers and small arms were also used.
Overall 17 settlements came under fire. On Donetsk axis, Kiev forces shelled Yasinovataya , Krasniy Partizan, Yakovlevka, Spartak , Signalnoye and Elenovka neighbourhoods, the airport, Volvo Centre and Trudovskiye village in western Donetsk. DPR intelligence spotted a Gvozdika 122mm self-propelled howitzer firing section in Novomikhailovka village, nine kilometres from the contact line.
On Gorlovka axis, Ukrainian army targeted Shirokaya Balka, Zaitsevo, Golmovskiy and Ozeryanovka villages. They also shelled Dokuchayevsk and Kominternovo, Sakhanka, Bezymennoye and Oktyabr villages in DPR south.
Six residential houses sustained shelling damage.
Overall, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 57 times over the past 24 hours. Please note, that according to the newly introduced violations counting method of DPR Command, a sequence of ceasefire violations committed within a certain period of time in a particular sector is registered as a single case of shelling (violation). Earlier the Operations Command reported the overall number of rounds fired. *jk
