Donetsk, May 2 - DAN. Ukrainian forces fired 1,131 rounds at DPR frontline areas over the past 24 hours, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Tuesday.
“DPR territory was targeted with artillery, mortars, grenade-launchers, infantry fighting vehicle cannons and small arms,” Basurin said.
Massed strikes were delivered on Donetsk axis, he said. As many as 530 hand-held and automatic grenade launcher rounds were fired at Donetsk’s Petrovskiy district, city airport, Yasinovataya, Yakovlevka, Vasilyevka and Spartak villages and Krutaya Balka township.
On Mariupol axis, Kiev forces fired 18 120mm mortar rounds at Oktyabr, Sakhanka, Leninskoye, Zaichenko and Kominternovo villages, and also shelled them with infantry fighting vehicle cannons, grenade launchers and small arms.
Three 122mm artillery rounds and 430 grenade launcher rounds were fired at Gorlovka and Zaitsevo, Verkhnetoretskoye and Zheleznaya Balka townships.
Eleven houses and a school in the Republic sustained shelling damage over the past 24 hours.
Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 47 times over the past 24 hours. Civilians were wounded in the shelling. *jk
