Donetsk, Dec 6 – DAN. The situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic remains tense as Ukrainian forces fired almost 1,000 artillery and mortar rounds at DPR frontline territory since Monday, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin told Donetsk News Agency.

“Ukrainian gunmen violated the ceasefire 1,295 times over the past 24 hours, firing 30 152mm and 122mm artillery rounds, 541 120mm and 82mm mortar rounds, ten tank gun rounds and 372 grenade launcher rounds,” Basurin said.

DPR frontline areas were also shelled with infantry fighting vehicle cannons and small arms.

Ukrainian units targeted Trudovskiye, Aleksandrovka and Staromikhailovka villages west of Donetsk, Elenovka southwest of Donetsk, Zaitsevo and Ozeryanovka villages outside Gorlovka, Vasilyevka, Krutaya Balka and Zhabichevo villlages in Yasinvovatskiy district, Yasnoye outside Dokuchayevsk and Kominternovo, Leninskoye and Sakhanka villages in DPR south.

A DPR defence source earlier reported that Ukrainian forces fired about 60 artillery and mortar rounds at the industrial zone outside Yasinovataya on Tuesday morning. *jk
