Donetsk, Oct 2 - DAN. The Ukrainian army has violated the ceasefire nearly 280 times firing over 3,600 rounds of ammunition at Donetsk People’s Republic areas since the previous Contact Group Donbass peace talks on September 19, DPR representatives said at the security subgroup meeting in the Belarussian capital on Tuesday.

In the period between the meetings in Minsk, from September 19 till October 1, 279 ceasefire violations by Ukraine were recorded, said DPR representative at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination Ruslan Yakubov.

In the reporting period, Ukrainian army units fired more than 3,600 rounds (10.8 tons) of ammunition at the DPR territory. Five civilians were wounded in shelling, and 19 houses and infrastructure facilities were damaged. The Ukrainian army often targeted such settlements as Staromikhailovka in western Donetsk, Gorlovka, and Sakhanka, Leninskoye and Kominternovo in southern DPR, Yakubov added.

DPR representative in the subgroup Alexey Nikonorov said at the talks that Ukraine was continuing to use unmanned aerial vehicles along the contact line, including attack drones, despite the ban of the use of UAVs and warplanes.

The Contact Group in Minsk is holding a new round of Donbass peace talks on Tuesday.*jk
