Donetsk, Nov 8 – DAN. Ukrainian forces fired 202 heavy rounds at DPR frontline areas over the past 24 hours, the security situation remains tense, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Thursday.
“The security situation remains tense. On Donetsk axis, the enemy used fired 18 122mm artillery rounds, 128 mortar rounds, eight anti-tank guided missiles; on Gorlovka axis four 82mm mortar mines were fired; six tank gun rounds and 38 120mm and 82mm mortar rounds were fired on Mariupol axis,” Basurin said.
Overall, 35 violations of the ‘school ceasefire’ have been recorded.
The ‘school ceasefire’ has been agreed to by the sides as the new academic year is to begin in Donbass on September 1. It came into force at midnight August 25. It has not proved to be durable, thought in the first hours the security situation along the contact line stabilized.*ot
