Donetsk, Jan 4 – DAN. Ukrainian forces shelled DPR frontline areas 1,230 times over the past 24 hours, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin told a news briefing at Donetsk News Agency.

Ukrainian gunmen violated the ceasefire 1,233 times in the past 24 hours, firing 125 120mm and 82mm mortar rounds and 1,010 grenade launcher rounds. They also used infantry fighting vehicle cannons and small arms,” Basurin said.

Ukrainian forces targeted Donetsk’s agglomeration – Yasinovataya and Krutaya Balka, Trudovskiye and Aleksandrovka villages in Donetsk’s Petrovskiy district. DPR intelligence spotted three new 120mm mortars in the vicinity of Novoselovka Vtoraya, Yasinovataya district.

Intense shelling was reported in DPR south: Sakhanka, Leninskoye and Kominternovo villages were targeted.
In the vicinity of Vodyanoye (4km from the contact line) three Ukrainian 120mm mortars were located.

Basurin said, the situation remained tense in one of the hotspots – Gorlovka sector, where Zaitsevo and Zheleznaya Balka were targeted.

The fire was opened from the positions of 53rd, 72nd, 92nd separate mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian armed forces and 36th marine brigade.

At least three Ukrainian tanks were also spotted in the area of Telmanovo, in vicinity of Granitnoye south of Donetsk.*ot
