Donetsk, Nov 1 — DAN. Ukrainian forces are suffering a defeat in the special military operation zone despite NATO weapons supplies, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Wednesday.
“Despite the deliveries of new types of NATO weapons, the Kiev regime is suffering a defeat, ” Shoigu said. “Russian troops maintain active defense inflicting effective fire damage on the enemy.”
Ukrainian gunmen persist with unsuccessful attempts to attack Russian positions on the Zaporozhye, Donetsk and Kherson axes. These actions result in large enemy losses. The Ukrainian army is exhausting its resources amid increasing demoralization of servicemen, he said.
Shoigu earlier said that a large number of Ukrainian servicemen had surrendered to Russian troops in the past few weeks and that some servicemen had laid down their arms voluntarily.
