Donetsk, Dec 26 – DAN. Ukrainian forces on Monday afternoon shelled Aleksandrovka checkpoint area west of Donetsk on the contact line between Ukraine and DPR, a Republican defense source told Donetsk News Agency.
"At 3:35 p.m. Ukrainian side opened fire at Aleksandrovka crossing point area with 120mm mortars,” the DPR officer said.
As of the moment of shelling, civilians were passing through the checkpoint. There were no casualties.
Donetsk airport came under fire at the same time, according to the source.
Earlier, DPR Operations Command reported that Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire almost 190 times over the past 24 hours.
On 21 December, the members of the Contact Group in Minsk agreed an indefinite ceasefire in Donbass effective from midnight 24 December, Kiev time (1:00 a.m., DPR time).*jk
