Donetsk, Apr 4 - DAN. The situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic remains tense, the enemy fired 304 mortar rounds at DPR territory in violation of the Minsk agreements, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said.
Massed fire was directed at Donetsk airport area with 102 mortar rounds launched overall.
Fifty-eight rounds were fired at Dokuchayevsk, 48 rounds at its Yasnoye neighbourhood and 42 rounds at Yasinovataya. DPR south was shelled again, with 28 rounds hitting Kominternovo and 27 rounds hitting Sakhanka.
Kiev forces also used infantry fighting vehicle cannons, grenade launchers and small arms. Updated reports said nine residential houses had sustained shelling damage over the past 24 hours.
“In Zaitsevo, Kirovo and Novgorodskoye villages (Gorlovka axis - eds Donetsk News Agency), DPR intelligence revealed engineering works to reinforce positions and camouflage armoured vehicles,” Basurin said.
Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 51 times over the past 24 hours. On Monday, a civilian was killed by shelling in Kominternovo, Novoazovskiy district, despite the ceasefire agreement in effect since 1 April. *jk
